14" x 5.5" Iroko, Black Walnut and Teak segmented snare
This is a classic solid wooden snare drum. The shell is a combination of iroko, black walnut and a central band of teak, machined to a thickness of 8mm and finished with a traditional french polish. The 3 complementary woods are made as segmented rings (this ensures shell rigidity and stability) which brings out the different shades of the natural timber as the drum is viewed from different angles. This drum has a lovely tone, and would suit a wide range of musical styles. The rigid shell construction and top quality tone woods give far more to the sound than you might expect from a 5.5" deep snare. At lower tunings it produces a full, almost marching drum sound, and at higher tunings it offers huge versatility and could suit funk or jazz, and has a real pop to cut through any mix at higher tunings. |
