The segmented shell uses iroko (a hard, close grained tone wood) along with central bands of black walnut and teak. The combination produces a highly responsive snare, that has a full, powerful tone at lower tunings and a classic full snare sound at mid to high tunings.
The snare has the usual top quality hardware - classic tube-lugs, the 3-P DW snare butt allowing 3 different snare settings at a click of a lever, with the DW Mag throwoff and Custom Pro snare wire.
